Ryan Seelau
Graduate Research Associate

Ryan Seelau, is a member of the Native Nations Institute (NNI) research team at the University of Arizona's Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy. His current work largely involves curriculum development that focuses on the creation of an online course to be primarily used by undergraduate students and tribal leaders who are interested in learning more about Native governance structures and Native economic development.

Ryan is an advanced law student in the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program at the University of Arizona's John E. Rogers College of Law. He is currently pursuing an SJD degree and is developing a thesis on Native juvenile justice systems. In addition, he is generally working on one or two projects outside of NNI that relate to Native economic development. His past education includes an LLM degree in Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy from the University of Arizona . He has also acquired a JD degree, a BS (in biology) and a BA (in religious studies) from the University of Iowa.

In his free time, Ryan enjoys hiking, playing guitar and reading. He and his wife, Laura, are also the founders and coaches of a nationally recognized collegiate mock trial program in Tempe, Arizona. As such, he spends much of his time preparing tomorrow's lawyers for the road ahead.
