Chris has been named a Fulbright Scholar for 2020-21 and will be on sabbatical in Spring 2021 to extend what has been nearly a decade of collaboration in Mendoza, Argentina, where he will be teaching on the water-energy-food nexus and conducting research on Andean river basin development.

He has also been named Mountain Chair for 2020-22 by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development. In lieu of travel to the region, he will deliver an online water-energy-food nexus seminar addressing Himalayan regional challenges and opportunities for regional transboundary cooperation. Additionally, he will extend UArizona collaboration as an associate member of the Himalayan University Consortium.

The International Water Resources Association (IWRA), of which Chris has been an active, two-decades-long member, named Chris as an IWRA Fellow Member in recognition of major contributions to IWRA and academic qualification in the field of water resources management.
