UArizona Faculty: 2025-26 Udall Center Fellowship Applications Now Open!
Udall Center Fellows are paid a stipend to spend a semester focusing on research in lieu of their traditional teaching duties.
Applications are now open for the 2025-26 Udall Center Fellows Program!
Applications are due January 31, 2025.
Udall Center Fellows are relieved of their teaching duties for a full semester* during the academic year so they can focus their attention on research that studies, examines or has the potential to impact some area of public policy.
Now in its 36th year, the Udall Center Fellows Program has hosted 184 UArizona faculty members throughout the life of the program. These scholars represent a diverse cross section of academic fields at the University of Arizona and include members of 51 schools, departments and centers in 13 colleges. The research areas of those selected to participate have varied greatly and include filmmaking, geography, sociology, law, public health, mathematics, ecology, hydrology and more.
Though three of the four available tracks call for submissions in specific fields of study – namely bioscience, the environment* and fine art – the general Public Policy Research track opens the door to research projects in just about any academic field imaginable.
You can also explore a list of example and past projects in each available track here.
This year, in partnership with multiple colleges and institutions across the U of A campus, the Udall Center offers the following four specialized tracks tailored to an array of potential public policy interests:
- Biosciences and Public Policy, in partnership with the BIO5 Institute
- Environment and Public Policy*, in partnership with the Arizona Institute for Resilience (AIR)
- Fine Arts and Public Policy, in partnership with the College of Fine Arts
- Other Public Policy Research, in partnership with the Office of Research, Innovation and Impact (RII)
