Our second workshop was held on April 20, 2017 at Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) offices (201 N Stone Ave.). For this workshop, we invited all the people that were listed in the previous workshop that included representatives from Watershed Management Group (WMG), Sonoran Institute, Living Street Alliance, TDOT, Trees for Tucson, Water Resources Research Center – Wet Project, Tucson Water Department, and Ward 1.

Partners co-facilitated this workshop that included a presentation by Andrew Bemis (TDOT) on the work done by TDOT and the scope of the bike boulevard project. Then, Irene Ogata from Tucson Water described Tucson Water’s programs that aim to increase green infrastructure through grants. Then we held a mapping exercise with the objective to identify criteria for prioritizing GI demonstration projects in this area, led by Mead Mier (PAG). The mapping exercise is meant to be a collaborative to prioritize criteria and evaluate potential areas to start engagement. Joaquin Murrieta (WMG) presented his experience in identifying opportunities and constrains around GI projects. The wrap-up section was led by the UA team (Andrea and Adriana) and was aimed to summarize and reflect lessons from this workshop and outline the next steps for this project.
