UArizona President Signs New Agreement with Udall Foundation

On Wednesday, June 23, 2021, University of Arizona President, Dr. Robert C. Robbins met with leadership from the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy (Udall Center) and the Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation (Udall Foundation) to sign a renewed cooperative agreement between the University of Arizona and the Udall Foundation.
The Udall Center has worked in close partnership with the Udall Foundation, an independent Federal agency headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, since the Udall Foundation’s creation by Congress in 1992. The Udall Foundation’s enabling legislation provides for an annual funding allocation to the Udall Center to conduct policy-relevant, interdisciplinary research and forums that link scholarship and education to decision-making. Since 2001, Congress has also authorized an additional set aside of funds specifically for the Native Nations Institute for Leadership, Management and Policy, a program of the Udall Center for which the Udall Foundation was a co-creator.
The Udall Center enjoys strong and robust programmatic relationships with the Udall Foundation which are codified in the new cooperative agreement. The breadth of the Udall Center’s public-policy engagements and success in securing external funding for applied policy work has allowed its interdisciplinary team to embrace new, mission-relevant policy areas as local, regional, national, and international needs dictate.
