Applications Now Open for 2023-24 Udall Fellows Program

The Udall Center is pleased to announce our partnership with three new departments to offer a total of six tracks for your public policy research efforts.

The Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications from UArizona faculty for the 2023-24 cohort of the Udall Fellows Program.

Udall Fellows are relieved of their teaching duties for a full semester during the academic year so that they can focus their attention on research that has the potential to impact some area of public policy.

Throughout the first 33 years of the Fellows Program, the Udall Center has hosted 165 UArizona faculty members representing 43 departments in 11 colleges with diverse research interests including geography, sociology, law, public health, mathematics, ecology, hydrology and more.

This year, in partnership with several colleges and institutions across the UArizona campus, the Udall Center offers six specialized tracks tailored to an array of potential public policy interests, including:
 

  • Social Sciences and Public Policy, in partnership with the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences
  • Science and Public Policy, in partnership with the College of Science
  • Fine Arts and Public Policy, in partnership with the College of Fine Arts
  • Environment and Public Policy, in partnership with the Arizona Institute for Resilience (AIR)
  • Biosciences and Public Policy, in partnership with the BIO5 Institute
  • Other Public Policy Research, in partnership with the Office of Research, Innovation and Impact (RII)

This year marks the first time that the Udall Center has partnered with the College of Fine Arts, the College of Science and the Arizona Institute for Resilience to provide specialized research tracks for faculty in those departments.

Applications to take part in the 2023-24 Fellowship Program are due April 14, 2023, so start your application process today!
