Kofi K. Owusu-Ansah

Kofi Kusi Owusu-Ansah is a PhD student in the School of Government and Public Policy at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on energy governance, environmental governance and policy, with particular attention to industrializing and developing economies. He is especially interested in the social, economic, and governance implications of the transition from conventional to renewable energy sources, including its effects on employment, equity, and sustainable development outcomes. His work examines the political, economic, and institutional factors that shape energy transitions, renewable energy deployment, and environmental sustainability.

Prior to joining the University of Arizona, Kofi earned a Master's degree in International Studies from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. He has previously conducted research on the circular economy and sustainability, and his scholarly work has been published in Sustainable Development, Environment, Development and Sustainability, and PLOS ONE.
